rejecting fast fashion consumerism

A Dada-inspired film, THINNEST LAYERS is both an exploration and rejection of the consumerist nature of the fast fashion industry.

I wanted to visually juxtapose a minimalist approach to style against the more streamlined face of fast fashion. Images of popular brands, cosmetic ads, and other textured elements were projected from a computer onto the bodies of two models. This piece is an interpretation of the temporary, almost transparent nature of the clothing being created by these brands.
